"I am profoundly saddened as I write increasingly about the growing divides that separate young people. More children are growing up without school library programs and teacher librarians to introduce them to learning resources. Fewer kids will know how to thoughtfully leverage information and communication tools in ways that will set them up to become successful, full engaged citizens. Can we make 2014 the year we awaken our communities to this growing divide?"
