Texas Library Association: One Book, One Conference selection

From TLA's website: "During the Texas Library Association's 2011 Annual Conference, Libraries Crossing Boundaries | Bibliotecas Cruzando Fronteras, all attendees will be encouraged to participate in the One Book, One Conference program which is showcasing a graphic novel.

Join in on discussions, and embark on a new reading experience! Whether you're an avid reader of graphic novels or have never read one before, this is a truly unique experience where the Texas library community comes together to converse about one piece of literature.

The 2011 Conference Program Committee has narrowed your nominations down to the following novels:

A.D. New Orleans After the Deluge, by Josh Neufeld

The Night Bookmobile, by Audrey Niffenegger

Epileptic, by David B. Page

Stitches: a Memoir, by David Small

American Born Chinese, by Gene Luen Yang"

I am REALLY curious to see which book will be voted for the One Book, One Conference program. I love the "one book" idea for a conference program, but because I really dislike graphic novels, I had to force myself to try to read the five nominees. Two of them I could not read past the first chapter, and three I finished but really disliked. I think it would be fun to get together sometime to discuss these. If you are interested, please let me know.
